Málaga CF may face a delay in their return to LaLiga EA Sports due to the participation of Atlético de Madrid players in the World Cup. The match against Atlético de Madrid, initially scheduled for August 15 or 16, may be postponed until August 18 or 20.

What has changed?

LaLiga established that if any club had players in the World Cup semifinals or final, the opening match would be postponed. Atlético de Madrid has several players in the Spanish, Norwegian, and Argentine national teams, which could affect the match date.

New date

According to sources, Málaga CF is now handling a new date to play against Atlético de Madrid, provided that Spain, Norway, and/or Argentina win in the World Cup. LaLiga plans to schedule the match between August 18 and 20, during the Feria de Málaga.

Why the change?

The Metropolitano already has commitments at the end of the month, with three consecutive concerts by The Weekend on August 28, 29, and 30. This makes it impossible to play the match on those dates. Currently sidelined: H. Abaida.
