Málaga City Council and Málaga CF have formalized this morning the sponsorship agreement for the 2026/27 season. For the fifth consecutive year, the city council will be the main sponsor of the blue and white team, although this time with a greater economic bet after the team's return to La Liga.
The deal includes Málaga Women's and the reserve team

The contract will be in force until August 2027
The agreement also includes activations, experiences, and corporate social responsibility actions, with at least one activation in which players from the club will participate, as well as contents from Málaga CF sponsored by the City Council. The contract will be in force until August 2027 and represents a new boost to the collaboration between both parties in a year particularly relevant for the city after Málaga's promotion to the top category.
The mayor of Málaga defends the city council's bet
The mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, has defended the city council's bet on the club after its return to La Liga. On the other hand, the judicial administrator of Málaga CF, José María Muñoz, has highlighted the economic impact that football will have on the city during this season, which is expected to be superior to that generated during the last season in Segunda.
The agreement is beneficial for both parties
Both have agreed that the agreement is a beneficial bet for both parties. The event concluded with De la Torre and Muñoz posing with the first jersey of Málaga CF for the 2026/27 season, which features the name 'Málaga City Council' on the chest.
