Former Málaga CF goalkeeper Roberto Jiménez returned to La Rosaleda on Tuesday to hold a talk with the first-team squad. The current head of LaLiga's Players' Office met with Juanfran Funes's players and coaching staff after the morning training session at the club's annexe.

The meeting took place in the club's 'Juan Cortés' press room and was organised alongside Málaga delegate Raúl Iznata. Roberto Jiménez outlined the work of his office, which serves as a direct channel of communication and support for professional footballers. The main focus was on the reality of a player's life beyond the pitch.

Welfare and professional future

Topics discussed included education, personal development, and managing situations on and off the field. The former goalkeeper stressed the importance of players having a supportive environment to handle the pressures of elite competition. Preparing for life after football was also a key part of the conversation.

"The Office aims to be a point of reference for footballers in all aspects of their career," Jiménez explained during the meeting. His talk allowed for the sharing of experiences and lessons from a career that includes over 270 top-flight appearances.

Squad update

Prior to the talk, the team completed a training session with few issues. Players Galilea and Aznou worked at a good pace with the group, indicating they have overcome their physical problems. In contrast, Juan Cruz remained sidelined with a muscle overload, joining the injury list that includes Cajuste, Murillo, Aaron Ochoa and Lobete. Full-back Rafita was also absent due to his call-up to the Spain under-21 squad.

Málaga CF thanked Roberto Jiménez for his visit and the approachable tone of a meeting designed to strengthen institutional support for players. The squad continues its preparation with an eye on the campaign's objectives, the progress of which can be followed in the standings.
