Málaga CF Confirms Carlos Dotor's Right Knee Injury: Out for the Metropolitano Debut
Málaga CF has confirmed that the midfielder Carlos Dotor has suffered a right knee injury. The club has communicated that the player has a 'preoccupation' in the internal collateral ligament of his right knee, which translates to a grade I sprain. This injury will keep him out of action for approximately 2-3 weeks until he can return to competition.
Dotor's Injury
The medical report of Málaga CF has confirmed that the concern Funes showed after the match in Ceuta was justified. The club has communicated that Carlos Dotor has a grade I sprain in the internal collateral ligament of his right knee. This means that the player is suffering a minor sprain in the knee, which will keep him out of action for 2-3 weeks.
Dotor's absence from the league debut at the Metropolitano will be significant for the team. The injury not only affects his individual performance but also impacts the team's collective performance.
Calero's Injury
In addition to Dotor, Málaga CF has also confirmed the injury of Fernando Calero, the new central defender. Calero has fractures in three ribs, specifically in the left ribs 9, 10, and 11. Recent medical tests have determined that Calero suffers fractures in those ribs.
In this type of injury, the approximate period of absence is more than a month, reaching up to two months, depending on the recovery process. This would mean that the only defensive reinforcement Málaga CF has so far could miss 7 matches. Funes's team will play seven league matches before the first break (20th of September). Calero could be absent for all of them and return after the break, already in October.
Calero's injury is a significant blow to the team, as he is a new signing expected to strengthen the defense of Málaga CF.
