Málaga CF have confirmed Adam Aznou as their sixth signing of the summer transfer window. The 20-year-old left-back arrives at La Rosaleda on a season-long loan from Everton, as reported by Sport.es on Monday.

Álvaro Borrego said: "El Málaga CF confirmó este lunes su sexto fichaje del verano". The Blue and Whites have thus strengthened their defence for the season ahead, which includes a next home fixture against Athletic Club on 29 November, as listed on our fixtures page.

Who is Adam Aznou?

Adam Aznou is a 20-year-old Spanish-Moroccan player developed in the youth academies of CF Damm and FC Barcelona. His career took a leap in 2022 when he signed for Bayern Munich. With the German team, he made his debut in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League. Last year, in the summer of 2025, Everton paid approximately €9 million plus variables to Bayern Munich for his signature. Now, arriving on loan without a purchase option, he lands in Málaga to compete for the left-back position.

His most recent spell in Spain was in the second half of the 2024/25 season, where he played 13 LaLiga matches for Real Valladolid, starting 10 of them. Despite his contributions, the Valladolid side were relegated to the Segunda División.

How does the new full-back play?

Aznou is an offensive-minded full-back, with pace and the ability to change the rhythm of play. He enjoys one-on-one situations and can drive forward from defence to break lines. He can also operate as an inverted full-back. His numbers from his last stint in LaLiga support this profile. In the 2024/25 campaign, he completed an average of 2.0 dribbles per 90 minutes, ranking him as the second-highest defender for completed dribbles (minimum 500 minutes) in the entire competition. Per game, he attempted 4.12 dribbles and succeeded with 1.91.

But his game is not limited to attack. He demonstrated defensive solidity with an average of 2.81 tackles per 90 minutes. He also has a good aerial duel winning percentage and positive records for recoveries and tackle success in European football. He did not score any goals during his time at Valladolid.

Where does he fit in the Málaga squad?

The arrival of Adam Aznou brings an injection of youth and dynamism to Málaga's left flank. His signing as the sixth summer reinforcement consolidates a squad with ambitious targets this season. Fans can review the full team setup on the squad page.

His ability to contribute in both phases of the game offers tactical alternatives for the coaching staff. With his signing, Málaga CF gain a player with experience in top European competitions despite his youth, and who already knows Spanish football.

The team's next fixture is a home match against Athletic Club, scheduled for 29 November. Adam Aznou, therefore, joins a project with important games on the immediate horizon.
